FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup Event

There’s no event quite like the FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup Event and the 2016 competition will be as memorable as all the years before. This freestyle skiing competition draws the best freestyle skiers from all over the world to compete against each other as they twist and fly and race as fast as they can to the podium while performing on the same runs that were used during the 2002 Olympic Winter Games.

This will be the 17th year that this international competition event is hosted at the Deer Valley resort which has had two World Championships and 14 World Cups. The competitions for this event will be held during the night time under the lights at the beautiful Deer Valley Resort and will include both women’s and men’s aerial events.

The White Owl Ski Run and the Champion Ski Run on Thursday, February 4th, 2016 will kick the even off with men’s and women’s mogul and dual mogul events. This FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup Event will run for 3 nights with finals for all ski disciplines and will conclude with an impressive fireworks display each night.

Of course, being there in person is the ultimate way to enjoy this competition sporting event, but it will also be broadcast on the NBC Sports Network with the Putnam Investments Freestyle Challenge- Moguls airing on 2/6/2016, the Visa Freestyle International-Aerials airing on 2/7/2016, and the Visa Freestyle International-Dual Moguls airing on 2/14/2016 on NBC.

Enjoy this amazing competition!

Nature Walks and Snowshoe Tours

Park City is a place full of outdoor beauty and adventure and the winter is the best time to visit. With so many outdoor winter activities and scenery to participate in and enjoy, you can enjoy the area alone, as a couple, or as a small group or family.

Nature walks and snowshoe tours are some of the most popular activities to enjoy while in Park City. With snowshoe tours, there are opportunities for all ages and experience levels. “Utah Outdoor Adventures” are one of several snowshoeing tour companies in the area that offer tours based on each party’s ability and comfort level, taking into consideration both the temperatures and the activity level required. They will tailor their snowshoe tours to the group’s needs and expectations. Some children in the group, for example, may want to take more breaks and pause to play in the snow while others want to press forward to see what’s around the next bend.

It’s important that anyone planning to go on a snowshoeing tour plan by wearing appropriate winter gear and shoes, and your guide can help you determine what that attire will include by calling them ahead of time.

A regularly occurring nature walk/snowshoe tour occurs regularly in Park City where anyone who is interested in learning more about the history and ecology of the area can pay $5 and meet up at the Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter to go together as a group. These walks/tours meet every Saturday at 8:00 am and run from November 7th 2015 through February 27th of 2016.
