Park City Sports

Park City SportsTake Me Out to the Ball Game!

Underneath all the glitz and glam of Park City lies a small town like any other.  The residents grow up here, they get married, they have kids;  Monday through Friday they go to work or school, on Saturdays they play in parks, on Sundays they pray in church.  They play sports, they watch sports and they cry when they lose and celebrate like crazy when they win.  The Park City sports world doesn’t have any professional football, baseball or basketball teams, but what they do have is heart…and an uncompromising love for all the professional and semi-professional sports teams that hail from their state!

Park City’s home teams, however, are a fun way to get healthy and stay competitive.  Put together a softball team and play a few innings at City Park on their full size softball field.  Join a lacrosse or soccer team that plays at the stadium field of Park City Sports Complex.  Or shoot hoops in a pick-up at the Park City Municipal Athletic & Recreation Center, one of Park City’s finest sporting establishments.

Opened in 2011, this facility offers a three lane track that circle around four indoor tennis courts, a free climbing area for kids and adults, a game room in which you can beat your friends at ping pong pool or foosball and 2 outdoor pools, 1 a lap pool and the other a leisure pool for families.  For the true athlete, this will be your home away from home!

For the mini Wayne Gretskys in your family, Park City Ice Miners Hockey league is home to what many consider the most exciting sport in the world!  With 4 age divisions…Squirt (9 & 10 year olds), Peewee (11 & 12 year olds), Bantam (13 & 14 year olds) and Midget (15 & 16 year Olds) PCIM and no requirements for previous hockey experience, your child will be chillin’ on the ice in no time at all!

More Sports in Park City

Of course we can’t forget about what makes Park City famous – their incredible outdoor winter activities!  Ski the slopes of Deer Valley Resort, but leave your snow board behind. DVR does not allow boarding!  Still, with 101 trails for cross country skiing and downhill to explore, you most likely won’t miss your board!

For even more trails, and the added bonus of being able to snowboard, Park City Mountain Resort and Canyons Resort are combining to become the nation’s largest single ski area!  Novice skiers will be happy with the ski schools available and expert skiers will enjoy the challenging runs of both resorts…and the après ski hot chocolate at the end of the day!  Looking for a change of pace?  Check out G-force bobsled & skeleton at Utah Olympic Park, where young and developing athletes are trained to learn the finer points of bobsled and skeleton.
