Park City Utah SkiingHitting the Slopes in Park City

Skiing in Park City is a special kind of wonderful, an experience you won’t soon forget, and an experience that grabs hold of your soul and refuses to let go. Nothing compares to the feeling of the cold winter wind slapping against your cheeks, the gentle swoosh swoosh sound your skis make as you wind your way down the slopes, or even the taste of that warm beverage as you sit by the fire in the lodge feeling that slight ache in your muscles after a long day on the mountain.  You’re an avid skier planning the big move…why not choose Park City, home of some of the best slopes in America, to be your new home?

Deer Valley Resort

Whether you are 9 years old or 90 years old, all 3 of our ski resorts have ski schools to teach you everything you need to know about schussing  or snowplowing down the Park City ski slopes! For the novice skier, 27 percent of Deer Valley Resort’s ski runs are classified as beginner. Their Ski School is for adults and children of all ages and all abilities, so take advantage of Deer Valley’s Private Adult lessons, Max 4 or Specialty clinics for the adults and Youth Ski Instruction, Teen Group Lessons or even Private lessons for the children.

For the intermediate skiers some of the best places to ski in Park City are at the Deer Valley Ski Resort, a haven of blue and double blue runs that will make your heart sing! Test your skills on Big Stick on Bald Eagle Mountain for the more advanced intermediate skiers or, if you’re feeling extra confident, consider a black run like Champion or Know you Don’t – you will have a blast! For the Expert skier, although Deer Valley is not really known for its expert terrain, the Daly Bowl and Daly Chutes are acknowledged as very good and very fun runs. Deer Valley Resort however is not for snow boarders. You will have to visit Park City Mountain Resort if you are a boarder.

Park City Mountain Resort and Canyons Resort

In 2015, Park City Mountain Resort and Canyons Resort are combining to become what will be known as the nation’s largest single ski area. With over 50 million dollars in improvement, this new utopian ski village is going to be THE place for skiers of all ages and skill levels.  Novice skiers of all levels, from never having even touched a ski to yeah, I’ve skied but it’s been a million years, will be happy with the lessons PCMR offers. Your 3 or year old is showing interest? Try our Kids U3 Ski lesson available at Canyons Village Base & Park City Base. These lessons last all day and your little tykes will come back to you exhausted, but happy, at the end of the day!  3 year olds are the youngest being taught and the classes go up in age from there.

The adult classes range from Never Ever (someone who has never been on skis before in their life) to Women’s Ultimate 4 ski Lessons for women who might feel more confident in a small, same sex class. Both Park City Mountain Resort and Canyons Resort offer phenomenal intermediate runs, much like Deer Valley, and again, much like Deer Valley, they still aren’t reputed to have the most challenging runs, but at the end of the day, a great time will be had by all!
